About the Role
You will be required to support people with learning disabilities to have control over and choice about their lives and to contribute to the community as equal citizens both directly and through the day to day running of a project.
You would:
Provide leadership and management, supervision and support for the project staff which will include ensuring good performance, management of hours worked, are identification of mandatory and other training needs, sickness absence and annual leave
Ensure that the service is delivered by staff in alignment with the core values of the organisation which are Honest, Accountable, Professional, Person-centred and Inclusive (HAPPI)
Participate in the induction of new staff
Promote positive relationships with all stakeholders – people supported, families, health and social care staff, housing association representatives, advocates, neighbours
Manage service provision to meet changing needs of people
Own and share the organisation's vision mission and values is in order to develop the project within this framework
Ensure that any necessary risk assessments are completed and health and safety procedures are followed
Implement or work to advice and guidelines agreed with health and social care professionals
Keep electronic and paper records up to date and accurate
Receive regular, one to one supervision and an annual appraisal and undertake training as needed to meet the organisation’s requirements and other standards
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and skills
Essential
QCF Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards) or willingness to do
Experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities to achieve what they want in life
Clear, fluent English speaker
Team player
Basic IT literacy, including keyboard skills and using email, internet and basic computer packages
Work flexible shifts, including night cover, early morning, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
Eligibility to work in the UK
